Generosity is Good for Your Health

A 'Boon Keur' is Generosity for Better Health

The name Good Heart Living is based on the Métis expression Bon Keur (good heart) which means to be generous with oneself and with others. To be generous when dealing with multiple health issues is to use inclusive and diverse skills for better emotional, physical, mental and spiritual health.

  • With a good heart, I try to reach out for help and I try to reach out to help (community).
  • With a good heart, I try to appreciate the struggles and triumphs of my loved ones and caregivers (empathy).
  • With a good heart, I try to take care of myself and my loved ones (generosity).

I am sharing how I cope with Type 1 Diabetes, Celiac Disease, Depression and Anxiety because I want to help people, who also live with multiple health conditions, to take better care of themselves which, in turn, will inspire me to take better care of myself. We are connected by our good hearts. Let's learn together.
